A total of 12 Wetherby members and 4 guests from Tadcaster Twinning met up in the Coffee Lounge at St James Church Centre. The first part of the evening was spent setting out the supper contributions which everyone had brought – and what a spread it was with quiches, sausage rolls, cold meats plus a wonderful selection of desserts. Once fortified with a glass of wine or elderflower cordial, we started off with a short quiz on events from 2024 plus a photo quiz of famous faces. The winning team was awarded a box of French chocolates. After supper, we played the ‘sticky ball’ game – a darts substitute which is really meant for children but which is surprisingly difficult and caused much hilarity at our adult ineptitude. It was lovely to meet up in such a relaxed atmosphere and to chat with our friends from Tadcaster, who told us that they are hoping to have a pétanque facility in the town.
